After the historic journey around the Moon, U.S. President Donald Trump praised the crew of NASA’s Artemis II mission during a live call. He told the astronauts, “Today, you’ve made history and made all of America really proud.” The four-person crew Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen had just finished a record-breaking flyby of the Moon. They traveled farther from Earth than any other humans had before and were the first people in over 50 years to see the far side of the Moon directly. In the short talk, Trump called them “modern-day pioneers” and praised their bravery and success. He stressed that the mission is an important step toward future lunar landings and eventually sending people to Mars.
